What is the maximum age Travel Insurance covers?

We cover up to and including the age of 74 at policy start date or renewal. For customers aged 75 years or over, AXA introduce you to Freedom Insurance Services Limited who may be able to offer alternative cover. You can contact them direct on 01223 785486 or go to their website which is www.freedominsure.co.uk.

What does ‘excluding baggage cover’ mean?

It means that you can reduce the premium you pay by choosing not to include baggage cover. You might do this if you feel you have enough cover under your household insurance for personal possessions while abroad and for the amount of time you’ll be away (some policies limit cover to 30 or 60 days in any one year).

What's the maximum limit for valuable items such as jewellery or video cameras?

£500. There's also a limit for any one article, pair or set of articles of £500.

I have an annual family policy. Can my children travel separately and still be covered?

No. Under the annual multi-trip policy only the adults are insured to travel on their own.

My children are at university. Can they be included in the family cover?

Yes, providing they're under 23. Family cover applies to your children, step children or foster children under 18 or under 23 if they’re in full-time education. Keep in mind they’re not insured to travel on their own; they must accompany you on your trip.

What is travel disruption cover?

Travel disruption cover includes cover for airlines or accommodation providers going out of business, missed connections, volcanic ash clouds, natural disasters and more.

I’m going abroad for a long time. Am I covered?

The maximum time away covered by a single trip policy is 183 days, so you're covered unless you plan on staying abroad for longer than six months. If you’re thinking of taking multiple trips, keep in mind that under annual multi-trip policies there’s no cover for trips over 31 days.

I've just booked my holiday over one year in advance. Can I take out a policy for this?

No. We can’t issue single trip policies more than one year in advance.
