In your community

With our presence on almost every high street in the England and Wales, Lloyds Bank is at the heart of the communities we serve.  And supporting those communities is central to our aim of helping Britain prosper.

In 2012 we brought the excitement of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games closer to our customers and communities. We helped bring the Olympic Torch Relay to more than 15 million people across the UK over 70 days. And we’re continuing to help communities benefit from the legacy of the London 2012 Games:

  • Our Local Heroes programme has so far funded and supported over 1,000 talented emerging athletes on their journey to success and in 2013 we’re helping another 128 hopefuls as they strive for the top.
  • Since 2009, nearly 9 million pupils and 84% of schools in Britain have taken part in Lloyds Bank National School Sport Week. And in 2013 almost 3 million young people from more than 6,000 schools took part.
  • Through our partnership with Join In we’re helping encourage more people to visit and support local sports clubs. And, for the fourth year running, we are partnering with the Cardiff Half Marathon, Wales’ biggest road race and mass participation event.

In 2012 we supported 132 local organisations through the Community Fund. And in 2013 we’re delighted to be increasing that to 1,600 organisations, each of which will receive an award to help them make a difference in their community.
