Visualise your financial future with our Retirement Planner

Even if this seems a long way off, having a plan in place is vital to ensuring the lifestyle you want in retirement is achievable. Our Private Banking Retirement Planner is a forecasting tool you can use to get an insight into how your finances could potentially look at retirement and beyond.

Whilst this tool will help you understand possible options and provide you with a representative forecast of your potential income this is not guaranteed and in retirement you may need to seek specialist retirement planning advice.

Using the Retirement Planner

It will take around 10 minutes to complete and the information you provide is anonymous so you won’t have to enter any personal details. To input key financial details such as income, savings, investments and pensions you will need to click on the plus button. Based on your inputs we will be able to show you a lifetime cash flow model, which will help demonstrate whether you are likely to achieve your retirement goals.

Whilst this tool will help you understand possible options and provide you with a representative forecast of your potential income in retirement you may need to seek specialist retirement planning advice.

Through the ‘Things to Consider’ options, you can look at how different decisions or events may affect your retirement income, for example retiring five years later. You will also be able to download a PDF version if you would like to look at it again at a later time.

Assumptions of the tool

The cash flow illustration is an estimate of what may occur in the future based on a set of assumptions, some of the key ones are outlined below. The assumptions remain constant over the lifetime of the plan illustration. Note: the assumptions may change over time, in line with market data, which may change the results of the selected plan illustration. Our investment return estimates are based on a current view, linked to the risk class selected in the tool. Full details of these assumptions can be found here.

  • If you refer to your illustration regularly, remember that due to the potential fluctuation of assumptions over time, it is possible this will impact the illustration.
  • We have assumed a gross savings growth rate of 1.50%.
  • We have assumed a gross investments growth rate of 3.50%.
  • Inflationary effects are taken into account in the plan and our inflation assumption is in line with the long-term projections set out by the Financial Conduct Authority, 2.5% per annum.
  • Charges will also be applicable for your invested assets, in all cases we have assumed a simple annual management charge of 1% per annum is applied. Your actual charges may be higher or lower than this, and may impact your plan.

Tax treatment is subject to change and will depend on your personal circumstances.

Forecasts are opinion only, cannot be guaranteed and should not be relied upon when making decisions. The forecast of future figures is not a reliable guide to actual future results.

Whilst this tool will help you understand possible options and provide you with a representative forecast of your potential income in retirement you may need to seek specialist retirement planning advice.
