Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking teamed up with MHA to sponsor its 2016 Manufacturing and Engineering Survey. The MHA is an association of progressive and respected accountancy and business advisory firms who provide specialist accountancy services and expert business advice. With manufacturing and engineering as a key sector for MHA, they are committed to assisting both clients and the sector to promote manufacturing and engineering throughout the UK.
Through the sponsorship, Lloyds Bank invited clients during July to complete the MHA survey as a barometer of SME manufacturing businesses. The survey results were published in October.
David Atkinson, Head of Manufacturing at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking said: "Supporting manufacturing businesses is a pivotal part of our commitment to driving the economy, so we were pleased to sponsor MHA’s 5th annual Manufacturing Survey.
This is a demonstration of our ongoing desire to provide unrivalled knowledge to manufacturers, as well as access to funding to help realise their growth ambitions.
Manufacturing has never been more important to the success and growth of the British economy and this is even more significant in the coming months and years as the outcome of leaving the EU is played out. "
Chris Coopey, Head of the Manufacturing Group at MHA added "The MHA Manufacturing and Engineering Survey has been providing an insight into the thinking across the UK’s manufacturing and engineering landscape for 5 years, however, 2016 is a standout year for two reasons. The first is that we have collected the views of over 500 predominantly SME businesses in the sector – our largest survey sample ever - and the second is of course the fact that the UK, by referendum, has opted to leave the EU, with all that entails for the sector (and the survey reflects that, as it was launched after the referendum result was declared)."
This year we are delighted to have analysis from Professor Raj Roy, from Cranfield University, a centre of excellence in engineering teaching and innovation and from Philippa Oldham, who heads Manufacturing and Transport at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
