Danesmoor Group, which serves the UK kitchen, bedroom and bathroom (KBB) trade, has invested in new headquarters, fast growing made to order complete kitchen manufacturing, state of the art worktop fabrication capabilities and has launched a series of new products including Mornington Oak and Aalborg micro shaker doors.
The funding package from Lloyds – made up of Asset Finance, Invoice Finance and a Term Loan – has supported the business to complete the final elements of the move of its kitchen manufacturing and assembly hub and offices to a new, EPC A rated headquarters in Heighington Lane.
The state-of-the-art offices are designed to encourage collaboration, training and long-term development. The business has also invested in a new ceramic worksurfaces line which is replacing existing equipment, improving energy efficiency and doubling ceramic production capacity.
Additional working capital has also increased Danesmoor Group’s headroom for innovation, helping the launch of 14 new products in the last 12 months.
This is fuelling a growth trajectory that has seen the business grow by 13 per cent year-on-year, significantly outpacing the wider market and growing market share. There also remains substantial headroom for further growth with the £68m turnover firm currently executing a three-year business plan to increase sales revenue above £100 million by 2028.
Danesmoor Group brings a unique proposition to the UK market with an integrated model that operates across three principal areas: PWS, Life Kitchens and the Danesmoor Agency.
PWS is one of the leading distributors of components to the UK KBB trade, stocking 12,000 products under one roof, offering paint to order, in house design support and work surface fabrication through PWS Worksurfaces. Life Kitchens offers trade and retail channels fully assembled, made to order kitchens, enabled by the firms’ state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. The Group’s supply arm, the Danesmoor Agency, completes its offering, supporting world-class manufacturers and delivering market-leading products and advisory services across the UK KBB sector.
The Group employs around 400 people, many from the Newton Aycliffe area. Recent investment has enabled job creation with 44 new roles hired in the last 6 months and the business continues to invest heavily in training and internal career progression, while supporting local suppliers and community initiatives.
Chris Wragg, Managing Director at Danesmoor Group, said: “The KBB sector has faced significant headwinds over the past few years. What’s enabled us to buck that trend is our ability to invest even when times are tough, and the diversification of the business to serve multiple customer types across all main routes to market. Lloyds really understood what we were trying to achieve with this investment programme and backed our vision.
