What does the 3-Star Fairbanking Mark granted to this product mean?

Fairbanking Mark

What did Lloyds Bank do to help it gain this rating?

Here are some reasons why Classic Account with Control was granted a 3-star rating:

  • You can stay informed about your balance with a range of alerts, including weekly balance, account limit and high/low balance.
  • You are unable to incur Unplanned Overdraft fees.
  • You are shown how your spending breaks down into different categories; travel, shopping, bills/utilities etc and how your spending across these categories changes over time.
  • You are shown your overall income and spending and how they change over time, potentially identifying opportunities to save money.

Fairbanking has ensured that an independent assessment has taken place to verify that the product is working effectively for customers. Part of the testing is to obtain feedback from customers on the specific features. The testing is paid for by the bank, but under the direction of Fairbanking and conducted by Ipsos MORI.

The product has been granted 3 out of 5 stars for how well it encourages and helps customers to control the relationship between their income, spending and borrowing. A high standard is expected and if more useful features are added to the product it may receive a higher rating.

Fairbanking is not a price comparison site – it may be possible to get a current account that costs less depending on how the account is operated.
