Request a payment with Link Pay

An easy way to get paid

  • Request and receive money you’re owed from friends and family, via our mobile app.
  • Select ‘Request a payment’ and you’ll find a shareable link and QR code.
  • Friends and family can follow the instructions to pay you back, no matter who they bank with.
  • You can request up to £150 at one time and receive up to £500 per day.

Steps to take

We’ll guide you through it.

  • To share a payment link:

    1. Go to your home screen in the app and choose a current account. Next, tap on the 3-dot menu and select 'Request a payment'.
    2. Select ‘Share link’.
    3. Next, choose which account you want people to pay in to and add an amount if needed. 
    4. Choose how you want to share the link. You can send the same link to more than one person. 
    5. A message will be sent with instructions on how to send you a payment. 

    To access your QR code:

    1. Go to your home screen in the app, tap on the 3-dot menu of your chosen account and select 'Request a payment'.
    2. Select ‘Share QR code’.
    3. Show it to anyone who wants to pay you to scan, and it’ll take them straight to your payment request.

Safety and fraud
 

  • Yes. Link Pay uses Open Banking which is a way you can safely share information with other banks.  You can find out more about Open Banking here.

    You should never open a message from someone you do not know. And if you have any doubts about the identity of someone contacting you, make sure you speak to them first using a number you trust.

  • For Lloyds Bank current account holders, Link Pay is a payment service that we offer as part of your current account and so there are no additional terms and conditions.

    For Payers initiating a payment using LinkPay i.e. clicking on a link or QR code they have been sent, these are the terms and conditions that they will be presented with (Link Pay Payer Terms PDF, 82KB).
