Features and benefits

  • We will fix your premium for 3 years if you take out and hold a new combined buildings and contents policy and remain claim free (excluding claims on Legal Expenses). Conditions apply.

  • Our claims helpline is UK-based.
  • You can transfer claim-free years from another insurer. If you have a claim-free period from a previous insurer and you take out buildings or contents insurance with us for the first time, you can benefit from our no-claims discount straight away.
  • Your no-claims discount is protected once you’ve held your policy for at least three years, had the maximum no-claim discount for 12 months, and been claim-free for at least a year. Then you can make one claim on your buildings cover and one claim on your contents cover without losing any no-claims discount.
  • You can keep some no-claims discount even if you claim. If you have more than two years’ no-claims discount and you make one claim in a policy year, you won’t lose all of your no-claims discount at renewal. We also keep your no-claims discount for buildings and contents separate, so you can claim against one without losing your no-claims discount on the other.

What does Home Solutions Insurance cover?

With Home Solutions Insurance, you can choose the level of cover that’s right for you: contents insurance, buildings insurance, or both. Buildings insurance generally covers the structure and fixtures of your home if it's damaged by insured events, like flood, fire, or extreme weather. Contents insurance generally covers all the things you’d usually pack up and put in a removal van if you moved home. You can also add additional benefits available at extra cost

Buildings insurance

  • The sum on the buildings insurance is unlimited, which means you can rebuild your home should the worst happen. Inner limits apply.
  • We’ll repair any accidental damage to underground services. This includes cables, pipes, drains, tanks (and their inspection covers) serving your home and for which you’re legally responsible.
  • We’ll cover your home for subsidence, heave or landslip, but keep in mind a higher excess will apply.

Contents insurance

  • The sum of the contents insurance is unlimited, so your possessions can be repaired or replaced.
  • Some inner limits apply, such as £3,000 for single item valuables and £10,000 for valuables in total.
  • We’ll cover food in your freezer up to £500.
  • We’ll protect your visitors’ personal effects in your home, up to £500 per person.

Additional benefits

  • If you're unable to live in your home following an insured event, we’ll pay for your alternative accommodation up to a limit of £30,000 for buildings and £20,000 for contents policies.
  • Some accidental damage is included as standard. You can add full optional accidental damage cover to both your buildings and contents cover for an additional cost.
  • We'll cover up to £50,000 if you need to take legal action against a third party.
  • We'll pay the full replacement costs of external locks if your house keys are lost or stolen.

  • We can organise payments into your Lloyds Bank current account the same day your claim is agreed.
  • If something goes wrong and you need to make a claim – for theft, escape of water, fire or accidental damage – then we’ll provide you with your very own Individual Claims Owner. Your dedicated Claims Owner is expertly trained and will make sure you’re kept up-to-date at every step of your claim. We’ll call you so you’ll always know what’s happening and when.
  • If your claim is particularly complex and we feel you need extra support we’ll send a Personal Claims Consultant to give you help face-to-face. They’ll make sure your claim runs as smoothly as possible.
