Transfer your ISA

Most transfers can be done easily online through our Internet Banking.

How to transfer to an ISA with us

To transfer an ISA to us, you will need:

  • One of our ISAs. If you don't have one, you can compare our ISAs and open one online.
  • The details of the ISA you want to transfer from and the details of your new Lloyds Bank ISA. To transfer from a cash ISA, you'll need the sort code and account number.
  • Your national insurance number.

Most transfers can easily be done online through our Internet Banking, except:

  • Some Help to Buy: ISA transfers.
    You cannot transfer to a Help to Buy: ISA online. See the Help to Buy: ISA transfer information to see your options.
  • Innovative finance ISA transfers.
    You cannot transfer from an innovative finance ISA online as they don't have a sort code and account number. Please book an appointment at your local branch to transfer from an innovative finance ISA.

Not registered? Register now for Internet Banking.

Once we receive your completed form, we’ll ask your current provider to transfer the money to us. You could be asked to print, sign and post your request to us.

Alternatively, visit your local branch or call us on 0345 300 0000. Lines are open Monday – Friday: 7am – 10pm, Saturday – Sunday: 8am – 6pm.
You’ll need your national insurance number and the account details of your existing ISA, and of your new Lloyds Bank cash ISA if it is already open.

Flexible cash ISAs

Your existing cash ISA provider will be able to tell you if your ISA is flexible. Flexible ISAs allow you to take money out and put it back in the same tax year without affecting your ISA allowance.

If you're going to transfer from a flexible ISA that you've taken money out of, please note:

  • If the money taken out was added to your flexible ISA this tax year, you have until the end of the tax year to put it back without affecting your allowance. You can do this before or after you transfer to us.
  • If you took out money that you had added into the flexible ISA in a previous tax year, to put it back in without affecting your allowance you need to do so before you transfer to us.

Other ISAs

If your ISA isn't flexible, or you're unsure if it is, please speak to your current ISA provider to understand your options.

You can no longer apply for a Help to Buy: ISA. However if you already have one you can transfer it to a Help to Buy: ISA with another provider.

If you have a Help to Buy: ISA you could transfer it to us over the phone. All of the money in your Help to Buy: ISA will need to be moved over.

Simply call us with the details of your Help to Buy: ISA to request a transfer. The transfer should be completed within 15 days.
