I have a personal Lloyds Bank account but don’t use Internet Banking

Using the Dashboard
When you start Money Manager the first thing you'll see is the Dashboard which shows you at a glance a summary of your spending, saving and future outgoings.
Example of a Money Manager dashboard
The Spending Analysis shows all your monthly income and expenditure in more detail. You can plan for the future using Spending Plans and maybe save for something special with Savings Goals, both designed to help you keep a closer eye on your finances. The calendar will help you keep an eye on the bills leaving your account too. You can navigate and get more detail by clicking on the appropriate tab.
Spending Analysis
In the Spending Analysis tab a pie chart shows you in detail where most of your money goes each month.
Below the pie chart you will see a total and an average of your incomings and outgoings.
Best of all, you can personalise this section so that it displays exactly the information you need.
Change the date range
You will automatically see this month’s spending but you can change it to any month or to a whole year.
See individual accounts
Money Manager displays your accounts together by default, but you can see them one at a time or a combination of them by applying filters, either by time period or transaction type and clicking 'Apply'.
Spending Plans
Spending Plans allow you to set monthly limits on your spending for categories of your choice – for example groceries or petrol. Creating a plan will allow you to see where your money goes and it will also help you manage your spending.
Features and benefits
- Create a plan in Money Manager to help control your spending.
- Set up a plan for any spending category. We'll still categorise most of your spending for you.
- Manage your spending.
- Track your progress.
Transactions
The Transactions tab lists all your expenditure so that you can analyse it in detail, categorise items which haven’t been automatically grouped and also recategorise expenditure already placed in a group.
Sometimes you might want to split a transaction across more than one category – for example, if you buy food and clothes in a single supermarket shop.
Also, you can change the categories that Money Manager uses to make them more personal.
You can also filter your transactions by period of time and by account.
Calendar
The calendar view automatically shows your regular monthly incoming and outgoing payments, and you can choose the date when your calendar should start.
You can also add reminders to your calendar. This does not authorise the payment – it just reminds you that you need to pay it. To make or amend the payment, set up the payment instruction separately by going to the Your Accounts overview page in Internet Banking.

How is my spending analysis categorised?
When money goes into or out of your account, Money Manager tries to automatically put the transaction into a spending category.
If you want to group a particular area of spending under a different category, you can create a new subcategory or give the existing one a new name. Then you can move the transactions to your new category names.

6.
What are the Money Manager categories?
The default Money Manager categories include home and garden, entertainment and leisure, clothing and grooming and groceries, among many others.
Within these are lower-level categories for more detailed analysis. You can even create your own personal spending subcategories to suit you.
Where possible, Money Manager automatically allocates your transactions to the right spending category.

Why are some transactions not categorised?
A transaction will appear as 'uncategorised' when we're unable to assign it to a pre-defined category. Cash Machine withdrawals and cheques for which we can't determine the recipient will also appear as 'uncategorised'. You can always allocate uncategorised items to improve your spending analysis.
