The investment road can be smooth or bumpy. Nothing is guaranteed but generally higher risks can mean higher returns – an attractive option as long as you are prepared for fluctuations in the value of your investment. Lower risk routes may not bring the same level of returns, but the journey is likely to be far smoother. This is commonly called the risk return trade off.
History has not always been the best guide when designing investment strategies. Some assets which have been considered as conservative for the last few decades no longer are. New forces are driving financial markets today and our role is to understand and interpret these changes in the way best suited to your needs.
Our aim is to make the risk return trade off work for you by seeking to achieve the maximum investment return possible given your risk tolerance. We do this by thoroughly analysing asset classes and balancing our expected returns against the investment risk needed to target them. We then carefully construct the portfolio with the most appropriate investment mix to suit your needs. Over time we monitor, manage and rebalance your portfolio as necessary to help ensure the outcome continues to meet your requirements.
The quality of your investment experience matters to us. Understanding the way you think and feel about your financial affairs and how you make investment decisions is vital for us when giving you investment advice. Awareness of your composure helps us understand what we need to provide to ensure you feel comfortable once you have entrusted us with your assets.
Whichever portfolio you choose, you need to understand the risks involved as the value of it may fall as well as rise and you may not get back the amount you originally invested. If you invest with us your Private Banking and Advice Manager will discuss these considerations fully with you before you make that decision.
The value of investments and the income from them may fall as well as rise and cannot be guaranteed. Investors may not receive back the full amount originally invested.
For access to advice from a Private Banking and Advice Manager, you’ll need at least £250,000 in savings, investments and/or personal pensions and/or a sole annual income of at least £250,000.
