Understanding biometrics

What is biometrics?

Biometrics is an authentication method that allows you to securely access our app. Using biological traits you can authenticate payments and log in using Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint recognition.

How to use biometrics in the app

When you first set up the app, you will be asked if you would like to turn on using biometrics instead of your password. The option to turn this on and off can be found in the Settings page within 'My Profile'.

It’s still important to remember your username and password, as there may be times where your device doesn’t recognise your face or fingerprint. You will still need to log in with your username and password to use online banking.

Security and fraud

How we protect you

We use some of the latest technologies to fight fraud. We continue to update this tech and add new systems to help keep you and your money safe.

Biometrics. We look at how you use your account online to help us spot things that aren’t normal. This helps us to tell if a fraudster is trying to use your account.
Built-in security. Our app uses software to keep the banking details on your device safe and private.
Safe start. The app checks your details, your device and its software before you log in.
