Bay House, based in the leafy suburb of Pontcanna, is well established in the area, providing NHS and private dental care for the residents of Pontcanna, Canton and central Cardiff for more than 20 years. Imran had been working at the three-surgery practice for five years before the opportunity to acquire the site arose when the previous owner was planning to retire.

The funding will help the Cardiff Dental School graduate to realise his ambition of expanding Bay House Dental’s offering to include facial aesthetics and Invisaline teeth straightening.

Imran Nathoo, owner of Bay House Dental, said: “Although I’m a big foodie, dentistry will always be my calling and it’s been my ambition for some time to be an owner of my very own practice. The opportunity to purchase the practice was too good to turn down and I’d like to build on the fantastic work of the previous owner. We’re already well established in the area so there’s a real opportunity for us to expand and offer even more.

“The journey from working at the practice for the past five years to taking over the reins really is a dream come true. It wouldn’t have been possible without the support I received from Lloyds Bank, who have been by my side throughout the whole process. Their communication has been excellent throughout despite the challenges presented by coronavirus and with their support I feel confident taking this exciting next step.”

Timothy Kibby, relationship manager at Lloyds Bank, said: “Imran is incredibly ambitious and enthusiastic, and we’re pleased to help him as he looks to progress his career. Bay House Dental already has a fantastic reputation locally and I’ve no doubt Imran will continue to build on this in the months and years ahead.”
