How the Social Housing Transition Loan works

This loan is designed to support both longer-term funding and property improvement activities.

Here’s what your project could include.

  • Buying or refinancing properties with a minimum EPC rating of B.
  • Building new properties to a minimum EPC rating of B.
  • Retrofitting properties from EPC rating C to G so they reach a minimum EPC rating of B.

Check if your organisation can apply

To apply for a Social Housing Transition Loan, you’ll need to be:

  • a social or supported housing organisation
  • looking to borrow up to £25 million
  • managing up to 3,000 units
  • planning or undertaking an eligible project focused on developing or retrofitting properties to an expected minimum EPC rating of B within an agreed time frame.
