Paul McDonagh

Paul joined Lloyds Banking Group in 2018. Before he joined the bank, Paul was Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Santander UK where he led the Large Corporate Relationship Management, Financial Sponsor and M&A teams. He was also member of a number of committees, including the Global Corporate Banking (UK) Executive Committee, the Global IB Executive Committee, and the UK GCB Governing Risk and Capital Committee.

Before his roles at Santander, Paul had a 25 year career at RBS/Natwest. During his time with RBS, Paul held a number of senior management positions in London, the US and the Middle East. In his final role with RBS, Paul was head of Global Network Banking. He led a team of 250 spread over 33 countries. He was also a member of the bank’s Executive Group and Credit Committee, and sat on the boards of RBS Finance Ireland and RBS Global Transaction Services. Earlier in his career, Paul had roles in risk, treasury, restructuring, and retail banking.

Paul holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the London School of Business and Finance. He is a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Banks (IFS).

Paul is a keen runner, cyclist and (ex)sportsman. He is married and has three children. Paul regularly raises money through sporting activities for various charities, and he also mentors finance professionals in the UK and around the world.
