At Lloyds Bank we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for our colleagues, customers and communities. Key to delivering on this aim is ensuring we are clear on the role we play in helping Black-owned businesses to thrive.

In July 2020, we launched our Race Action Plan to help us to address the specific challenges and barriers that our Black colleagues and customers face. Through our partnerships with Black Business Network, Foundervine and the Black Business Advisory Committee, we are dedicated to spearheading long-lasting and systemic change.

We recognise that we still have a long way to go to create a truly equitable experience for Black business owners. As one of the UK’s largest organisations, we have a responsibility to do all that we can to ensure the business community is representative of the country we’re proud to be a part of.

Black Business Advisory Committee

Our Black Business Advisory Committee was established to provide guidance on our mission to understand and overcome barriers to success for Black entrepreneurs and business owners in Britain. All 12 members of the Committee bring with them a diverse set of experience and expertise; helping to create and advocate for the right programme of support validated by insights and the Black community. The Committee underpins Lloyds Bank’s future actions to ensure Black businesses have the best opportunity to start, grow, adapt and thrive.

Black Business Support Hub

We’ve collaborated with Black Business Network to create a directory of business resources and organisations that support Black and diverse entrepreneurs for the lifecycle of their businesses. The Black Business Resource Hub has been curated by members of the Advisory Committee to help navigate to useful information including funding, networking, mentoring, events and marketplaces.
