The Halifax brand is changing to Lloyds

Whilst the brand might be changing, everything else stays the same.

A change to our family of brands

This change welcomes Halifax customers to Bank on Lloyds. We’re really glad you’re here.

For existing Lloyds customers, nothing changes to your accounts or services.

What this means for you

For existing Lloyds customers

This brand change doesn’t impact Lloyds or Bank of Scotland accounts or services, and there’s nothing you need to do.

For existing Lloyds customers

This brand change doesn’t impact Lloyds or Bank of Scotland accounts or services, and there’s nothing you need to do.

For Lloyds customers with Halifax accounts

Over time, the brand of your Halifax accounts will change to Lloyds. If you have different Halifax accounts, updates may happen at different times, and we’ll always let you know before anything changes.

For your Halifax‑branded accounts, visit the Halifax website for more information

All your accounts in the app

You can already view any Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland personal accounts in one place, giving you a fuller picture of your finances.

The Halifax app will eventually stop working and you won’t be able to access your accounts from there. You'll be able to access them from the Lloyds app though.

Your questions answered

Here you'll find more information about this change including answers to some key questions you may have.

  • Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland are all part of the same family, and we’re letting you know for awareness only. The Halifax brand will change to Lloyds, and there will be no changes to your accounts or services.

  • You don’t need to do anything, and there won’t be any changes to your existing Lloyds accounts, including any business or private banking you have with us.

  • We’re bringing our brands together under one leading relationship brand in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to make banking simpler, smarter and more joined-up. This allows us to invest more in products, digital tools and personalised support, helping customers get more value and better support at every stage of life.

  • You can keep managing your accounts in the same way you do now, including using branches, apps and online banking. You can continue to use Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland branches as normal.

We're not changing previously announced plans for our branches. The vast majority of Halifax branches will change to Lloyds, and customers will continue to be able to use any of our branches. This won’t affect you as a Lloyds customer.

  • Halifax customers will receive the same level of service as Lloyds customers, and this won’t affect the service and support you receive.

  • Nothing, if you’re a Lloyds customer, you don’t need to do anything as part of this change. If you receive any messages asking you to take action, they are fraudulent - please don’t respond.

We’ll never ask you to share your personal details or move money by phone, email or text. Any links or QR codes we share will be for general information only. We won’t ask you to log in or verify yourself using them. If anyone does, it’s a scam and isn’t from us.

Genuine messages from us will always contain your name and include last 4 digits of your account number.

For more help spotting scams, visit our scam advice page.

  • If you use Halifax online banking and are registered for Lloyds online banking, you’ll already see your Halifax accounts there too.

Just log into Lloyds online banking or the app, and your Halifax accounts will be there waiting for you. They're similar to Halifax, so everything should feel familiar and just as easy to use.

If you need help accessing your account or have forgotten your login details, visit our getting online page.
