The Foreign currency transaction fee is a fee for currency conversion.
Other fees, charges and interest may apply. Please refer to your account terms and conditions or see the credit card details or debit card details accordions below for more information.
These examples assume you allow us to convert the transaction from foreign currency to pounds. If you choose to allow the provider to convert the transaction to pounds, they may make a separate charge for conversion.
^For debit card transactions in Euro within the EEA the foreign currency cash fee of £1.50, the foreign cash fee of £1.50, and the foreign currency purchase fee of £0.50 were removed on the 13th December 2019.

Description
This is a fee we charge for the conversion of currency. This is a percentage value of the converted pounds amount.

The foreign currency purchase fee does not apply to Platinum and Premier current account debit card holders.
Description
This is a fee we charge per transaction when you make a purchase (not a cash withdrawal or purchase of foreign currency). This fee is applicable only to debit card transactions. This fee is not applicable to debit card purchases in Euro inside the EEA.

This is a fee we charge for the withdrawal of cash abroad using you debit card, except for withdrawals of Euro inside the EEA where you will not be charged a foreign currency cash fee.

This is a fee we charge if you choose to complete your debit card cash withdrawal using the ATM provider’s conversion rate to pounds, except for withdrawals of Euro inside the EEA where you will not be charged a foreign cash fee. The ATM provider may make a separate charge for the conversion which will be included in the exchange rate offered to you.
