Setting up your credit card is easy, secure, and only takes a moment.

Getting started - find out everything you need to know about activating your Lloyds Bank credit card.

You’ll need your credit card to hand and we will need some of your personal information to complete the activation. If you’re already registered with Internet Banking, you’ll also need your log on details.

Depending on which credit cards you wish to set up, activating will enable you to use online features, including:

  • setting up balance transfers
  • viewing online statements - Paper-free is a way that you can receive electronic statements and/or correspondence for eligible credit cards
  • setting up a Direct Debit - with a direct debit you have control over how much you choose to pay each month.

If you aren’t registered with Internet Banking, you’ll have the opportunity to register once you’ve activated your credit card. You'll also been given the opportunity to choose which online services you'd like to take advantage of.

Not registered for Internet Banking?

If you're not already registered for Internet Banking, you can still activate your new credit card securely online.

Your details are safe with us. We’re constantly adding new safety and security features so you can have peace of mind when banking online.

Once you've activated your credit card you will also be given the option to create an Internet Banking account.

In Branch

You can activate your new credit card in your nearest Lloyds Bank branch.

Our branch staff are available to help you setup your new Lloyds Bank credit card.

They can also discuss any other queries you may have about your new credit card, including any services that you may benefit from.

Mobile Banking app

You can now activate your Lloyds Bank credit card using our Mobile Banking app.

Just look for the prompt within the notification centre on the homepage to activate your credit card.

    2. How do I register for Internet Banking?

    It's easy to register and takes about 5 minutes to complete.

    • Enter your personal details
      Name, date of birth, postcode and account details for one of your Lloyds Bank accounts.
    • Choose a username and password
      You will need access to a phone and we may need to send you an activation code in the post.
    • Log on to Internet Banking
      Log on using the username and password you’ve chosen.

    3. Do I need to activate my replacement card?

    You will not need to activate your replacement credit card, unless the sticker on the card asks you to do so.

    4. How do I activate an additional card?

    The main cardholder must activate any additional card, as the 16 digit credit card account number of the main cardholder is needed. You can activate the additional card online, by calling the number on the credit card sticker or you can pop into your local branch.

    5. Do I need to activate my credit card before I can use it online?

    Yes, for security purposes you need to activate your credit card before you can use it.

    6. Can I personalise my PIN number?

    Its easy to change your PIN to a number you already know – a memorable date, for instance. You can change your PIN at most UK cash machines. Just insert your card and using the PIN we've sent you, follow the on-screen instructions.

    7. I've forgotten my PIN number?

    If you’ve forgotten your PIN, you can get an instant reminder using our Mobile Banking app.

    If you don’t have the app, you can find out how to download it here. If you’d prefer a paper reminder, you can request a PIN reminder which will be sent through the post. You’ll receive your reminder by post in 3-5 working days.

Going abroad?

You no longer need to tell us when you are travelling abroad, our fraud and security systems will always be on the lookout so you can relax when you are away.

Balance transfers

As an existing Lloyds Bank credit card customer you could benefit from balance transfer offers, which could help you save money and manage your finances. A transfer fee may apply.
