Cashback credit cards

Earn cashback on purchases with a cashback credit card.

  • Cashback is normally earned as a percentage of every pound spent on eligible purchases.
  • You could earn cashback on everyday and larger, one-off purchases.
  • The total cashback amount is usually credited to your credit card account to reduce the balance.

How do cashback cards work?

They work in the same way as other credit cards, but you earn cashback when you make card purchases, which is usually paid monthly or yearly. This cashback is then used to reduce the balance you owe on your credit card.

The Lloyds Bank Cashback credit card

Here are the benefits you could receive with the Lloyds Bank Cashback credit card:

  • Earn 0.25% cashback on your first £4,000 of purchases per calendar year.
  • Earn 0.5% cashback on further purchases once you’ve made over £4,000 of purchases per calendar year.
  • No cap on the amount of cashback you can earn.
  • £20 cashback bonus on your balance, if you’ve made £1,000 of purchases within first 90 days of account opening. Offer conditions apply.

Useful to know

  • Cashback will be paid automatically to the credit card account every January.
  • We will deduct cashback on purchase refunds, credit adjustments or fraudulent transactions, for the month in which the refund or adjustment was made, at the rate you currently earn cashback. This may generate a negative cashback amount on your statement, but we won’t take it from your account.

What else do I need to know about the Lloyds Bank Cashback credit card?

Where can I earn cashback?

You could earn cashback for your daily coffee and weekly shop, as well as at places like petrol stations, and restaurants. Contactless and online purchases count too, and you could also get cashback on any bigger purchases you might have planned.

What things don’t qualify for cashback?

You won’t earn cashback on:

  • Balance or money transfers.
  • Cash withdrawals and transfers.
  • Gambling transactions - e.g. casinos, betting outlets or bookmakers.
  • Account interest, fees, or charges.
  • Payments to current, savings, share-trading, spread betting, gambling, or any similar accounts.
  • Payment protection transactions.

How do I keep track of my balance?

All cashback earned will show as a running total on your monthly statements.

When will I get my cashback?

Cashback you’ve earned throughout the year will be applied to your account in January. This will reduce your balance, but won’t count towards your minimum payment.

Important information

  • You’ll pay interest on your credit card balance, unless you have an introductory rate or clear the full amount every month, so try and repay what you owe as soon as you can.
  • Cashback is calculated on each purchase, rounding down to 2 decimal places after the penny.
  • We’ll deduct cashback on purchase refunds, credit adjustments or fraudulent transactions, for the month in which the refund or adjustment was made, at the rate you currently earn cashback. This may generate a negative cashback amount on your statement, but we won’t take it from your account.
  • Terms and conditions apply. If we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse or breach of these terms and conditions, we can stop you and any additional cardholder earning or receiving cashback.
  • If your account is closed, cashback earned before closure will be credited to your account.
