  • You can apply for a credit card if:

    • You are a UK resident, aged 18 or over, with a regular annual income.
    • You are free of County Court Judgements (CCJs), Individual Voluntary Agreements (IVAs) or bankruptcies.
    • You are not unemployed or a student.
    • You have not been declined for a Lloyds Bank credit card within the last 30 days.

    Before you apply, you’ll need to check your eligibility. This will show you the cards you can apply for and what credit limit we could offer you. You’ll just need to fill in some basic information like your bank details, annual income, spending commitments, and a couple of other things. It’ll only take about five minutes.

    Once you’ve checked your eligibility and found the card you want to apply for, simply follow the instructions and fill out the rest of the form.

  • Rather than see a full list of all our credit cards, we’ll only show you the cards you’re eligible to apply for. This should make it easier to see if you’ll be accepted and what interest rate and credit limit you’re likely to get before you apply. That way, you can make a more informed choice and choose a card that’s right for you. It can also help protect your credit score by not allowing you to apply for cards you may well get declined for.

  • When you check your eligibility, we only perform a ‘soft search’ which won’t affect your credit score. This means it can’t be seen by other lenders and won’t affect applying for other products. However, if you go ahead and apply then we will do a full credit check. This will be noted on your credit file and may impact your credit score.

  • Your credit card and PIN will arrive separately. This is for security. Your PIN will usually arrive in 3-5 working days. Your new credit card will usually arrive in 5-7 working days.

  • Before you take out a credit card, it’s important to make sure it’s the right option for your needs. Depending on what you want to borrow for and for how long, a credit card might not always be the best choice. A personal loan or an overdraft may end up being a better option for you.

  • If you have a credit card with another lender, then you may also be able to apply for a Lloyds Bank credit card. However, just because you already have a card, that doesn’t mean you will automatically be approved. We take lots of things into account when making a decision. You can check your eligibility before you apply to see the cards you’re likely to be accepted for.
