Gadget insurance is designed to cover devices owned by you or family members who live with you in the event of theft, accidental damage and breakdown.
You can apply for gadget insurance if you have a Lloyds packaged bank account. This includes Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Premier current accounts. You must also be a UK resident.
Assurant will check if you can be covered at the point of sale. Your first monthly direct debit will need to be paid from your Lloyds packaged bank account.
You should review any existing cover before deciding whether to apply.
This includes your partner or spouse, or any other relative who lives at the same address as the policyholder within the UK.
It also includes relatives who are students and who temporarily live away from home during term time.
You need to pay an excess for each device you claim for. You should consider the excess (£100 for laptops and £50 any other gadgets) if you have a basic gadget to judge if the policy meets your needs.
Yes, a 12-month warranty is provided by Assurant.

The insurance policy will renew monthly, unless you or the insurer cancel, or you fail to pay the monthly premium.

Gadgets are portable electronic devices with their own power source. Such as smart watches, laptops, tablets, wireless earphones and digital cameras.
They need to support multimedia apps or downloading multimedia content. This might be running apps from an app store, taking pictures, playing music or videos, or using GPS.
Items that need to be continuously plugged into another electrical appliance or the mains electrical supply to work are not covered.
