Promoting awareness of the link between mental health and money problems.
"We are incredibly excited about what this can achieve. It’s the coming together of an organisation that really understands money, and charities that really understand mental health, and those two things belong together. Having the support will enable us to make a huge difference supporting the four million people affected by both mental health and financial challenges in the UK."
Brian Dow, Director of External Affairs, Mental Health UK.
Mental Health UK brings together four national mental health charities working across the UK. With over 40 years’ experience working to improve the lives of people affected by mental illness, the charity is raising money so that more people across the country can access support for themselves or their family and friends.
Mental Health UK already supports over 60,000 people, and our partnership aims to further promote awareness of the link between mental health and money problems. We will encourage discussions between our customers and colleagues with the aim of raising at least £2m per year in offices and branches.
Through this partnership, we will work with Mental Health UK to create a pioneering Mental Health and Money Advice Service which will offer support for people experiencing both mental health and financial difficulties.
