What do you need to open a bank account? expandable section

You need to be aged 18 or over to open most Lloyds current accounts.

As well as some personal and financial information, you’ll also need to give some form of ID. A valid passport or UK photo driving licence would be ideal, but there are other acceptable documents.

If you're an existing Lloyds customer, you can verify your identity with your Chip and PIN bank card.

Can I open a joint bank account? expandable section

Most Lloyds current accounts can be opened with another person, making it easier for you to manage your money together. You could do this by opening a new account or adding a second person to an existing account. Both account holders will need to be aged 18 or over.

Because a joint account creates a financial link between you and you’ll both have full access, it’s important that you only open an account with someone you trust completely.
