Features and benefits

PCP car finance can help you get behind the wheel of a new or used car. PCP is different from other borrowing options as you don’t need to commit to owning the vehicle at the end. This type of car finance is flexible, letting you either pay off the car or hand it back, so the monthly payments are often lower.

What do I need to apply for PCP?

To apply for PCP, you’ll need to give us some key information. This includes:

  • details of your finance - such as your income, outgoings, debts and financial commitments
  • the car registration number
  • the current mileage on the car you’re buying
  • an estimate of how many miles you’re likely to drive over a year
  • your deposit amount and the car’s total price
  • the dealership information – including the name, address and bank details.

Let's break it down

Who is PCP for?

  • Applicants aged 18 or over.
  • UK residents.
  • People who’ve had a Lloyds current account for at least 3 months.

Our decision to lend to you is also subject to status and affordability checks.

How PCP works with Lloyds

  1. Start your PCP application online or through the Lloyds app.
  2. Select a deposit amount, the loan term and how many miles you expect to drive in your car.
  3. Answer questions about your finances.
  4. Add details about the car and dealership.
  5. We’ll give you a decision there and then.

Once your PCP application is agreed and you’ve signed the legal documents, we’ll transfer the finance to the dealership, usually the same day.

What you need to know about a Lloyds Personal Contract Purchase

With a PCP from Lloyds, you can own your car by paying a final optional lump sum, also called a balloon payment, or you could return it at the end of your term. If the car is returned in good condition, you don’t need to pay anything extra.

Here’s what to expect when you get PCP from Lloyds:

  • Borrow between £3,000 and £60,000.
  • Choose a term of 1 to 4 years.
  • No early repayment charges.
  • We send money straight to your chosen dealership.
  • Finance is sent the same day your PCP application is agreed.
  • Paying a larger deposit unlocks lower monthly payments.
  • Yearly mileage limits – charges apply if you go over your agreement limit.
