Making your mortgage appointments work for you

Booking an appointment with a fully qualified mortgage and protection adviser has never been easier.

You can apply for a mortgage on a video appointment or over the phone.

With all our appointments you can speak to a mortgage and protection adviser about:

  • First-time buyer mortgages.
  • Home-mover mortgages.
  • Remortgaging an existing property.
  • Switching to a new deal.
  • Applying to borrow more.

How does a mortgage appointment work?

  • We're here to help 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays.
  • Your mortgage and protection adviser will explain everything you need to know, so you get an application started in a single appointment.
  • We'll share your documents on screen, or you can view these on your own device.
  • You don’t have to be on camera. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to see us, but we don’t need to see you.
  • If there’s more than 1 person applying, they can join the call from different locations.

Request an appointment and we’ll get in touch to arrange a time that works for you.

1. Getting ready for your appointment

We’ll contact you to confirm the appointment details and let you know how to prepare for the meeting where possible.

For video appointments, when the time comes to start your meeting, your mortgage and protection adviser will call you on your phone to guide you through the set up.

All you need is a quiet space, a device with a camera and a microphone. We also recommend using a broadband connection.

Using your mobile network may reduce the quality of the service, and your network provider may charge you for the data used.

2. Go at your own pace

During your appointment, your mortgage and protection adviser will ask you about the property, your income and expenses.

You can work through the application at a pace that suits you best and take a break if you would like to.

3. What happens next

You’ll be emailed a copy of your paperwork as soon as your appointment is over.

Usually, you can upload your documents to us straight from your computer, or by taking a photo of them on your smart phone.

What’s the best way to prepare?

  • Find somewhere private and comfortable where you’ll be happy talking about your finances.
  • You’ll be asked about the property, and your income and expenses in a lot of detail. Make sure you have documents like your payslips, tax statements and bank statements to hand.
  • If you’re having a joint appointment, you’ll need details for all applicants. We’ll send copies of the documents to all applicants after the appointment.

If you’re having a video call appointment:

  • You can use a laptop, desktop computer or tablet (with screens larger than 7 inches) for your appointment. Make sure webcam, speakers and microphone are enabled.
  • If you’re using your tablet, you’ll need to navigate to your app store and install the Cisco WebEx Meetings app before you can join a video meeting appointment.
  • This service works on most up to date computers and tablets. You’ll see a message on screen during installation if your internet browser or operating system isn’t compatible. Sometimes this is easily resolved by updating to the latest version.

Calls and online sessions may be monitored and recorded. Not all Telephone Banking services are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
