  • Lloyds Monthly Saver now pays leading 8% AER in the first year
  • Customers can save between £25 and £250 a month, with the 8% fixed rate guaranteed for the first 12 months
  • Designed to help people build a regular savings habit
  • Maxed out, customers can save £3,120, including interest
  • Customers can open another Monthly Saver as soon as the first one matures

Lloyds customers can now get a leading savings rate, with the launch of a new instant access Monthly Saver, paying 8% AER.

Lloyds’ new Monthly Saver is aimed at people who want to save regularly and get rewarded for doing so, with the 8% rate designed to help their money work harder.

Customers can put between £25 and £250 a month in the account.

Savers who put away the maximum amount each month can earn £120 interest, a real boost on the £3,000 they’ve put away over the course of the 12 months.

Simon Caddick, Savings Director, Lloyds said : “Our new Monthly Saver is one of many ways we reward our customers for having their day-to-day banking with us. We’ve also got a prize draw running where customers can win one million pounds as well as a prize draw, exclusive to students, to win almost £10k – the equivalent of a year’s tuition for many. We mean it when we say we want customers to feel like they’re getting something back when they bank and save with us.”

How does the Lloyds 8% AER Monthly Saver work?

It’s easy to open Lloyds’ new 8% AER Monthly Saver:

  • Have a Lloyds bank account

  • Open the account - the minimum payment needed is £25

  • Save between £25 and £250 – this needs to be by the 25th of each month

  • Customers can hold one Monthly Saver, or one Club Lloyds Monthly Saver, in sole or joint names, in any 12-month period.

  • After 12 months, the interest will be paid into the account and it will change to a Standard Saver.
  • Customers can immediately open another Monthly Saver, if they would like to do.

Savers will get most out of the account when they save monthly and keep the money in the account but, as the account is instant access, money can be taken out at any time, if this is needed.

Who can have the Lloyds 8% AER Monthly Saver?

The award-winning Monthly Saver is available to Lloyds current account holders, who are over 16, UK residents and haven’t opened another Lloyds Monthly Saver within the last 12 months.

What other Rewards does Lloyds offer?
