Let’s look at the details
-
- Your request will remain active for anyone to pay you at any time. It doesn’t expire.
- You can share your link or QR code with several people at the same time, for example in a group message.
- You can use Request a Payment abroad, but only to send and receive pounds sterling.
-
- Request a Payment is offered with all of our personal current accounts.
- If you create a reference when requesting your payment, it’ll show on your statement for you to track it.
- You can't cancel a request once you’ve sent it – just message the person to tell them you no longer need the payment.
- The payment should arrive within two hours after it's sent to you.
- If you haven’t received a payment, check that your friend or family member got your link and made the payment. Payments normally arrive within two hours. If the payment still hasn't been received, ask them to check with their bank first.
- The link you send will work with any UK bank, not just Lloyds.
-
Request a Payment uses open banking which is a way you can safely share information with other banks.
Never open a message from someone you don’t know. And if you have any doubts about the identity of someone contacting you, make sure you speak to them first using a number you trust.
For Lloyds current account holders, Request a Payment is a service we offer as part of your current account, so there are no additional terms and conditions.
For payers initiating a payment, for example following a link or using a QR code you've sent them, they'll see these terms and conditions (PDF, 75KB).
