1. Buy travel money before you fly

2. Check your expiry dates

Make sure you take your latest debit or credit card on your travels if you’ve recently received a new one.

You should also check your passport before you travel to ensure it is valid for your whole trip.

3. Arrange your travel insurance

If you are going abroad you should take out travel insurance to ensure you are covered if the unexpected happens.

4. Read our charges and fees

Our charges and fees for using your card abroad may vary depending on your destination.

Check out your card fees before you travel to make sure you know how much you're going to be spending.

5. Update your contact details

Make sure your email address and phone numbers are up to date so that we could contact you when you're away if needed.

6. Always follow FCDO advice

We want you to have a safe and enjoyable trip.

You should always follow Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) advice.

Report your card lost or stolen

If you can’t find your card, there’s no need to worry. You can report it lost or stolen online through Internet Banking or our Mobile Banking app.

We’ll cancel the existing card straight away and send you a new one.
